An object library (or type library) is a file or portion of a file that contains information about the objects associated with a particular application. This information includes the names of the objects and the names and definitions of their properties and methods, along with other information such as the symbolic constants associated with the application.
Of particular importance is the relationship between objects, often referred to as a parent-child relationship. This relationship imparts a hierarchical structure to the objects that is often referred to as an object model and provides the means to access the various objects from other applications. In particular, a reference to an object can be used to obtain a reference to the object's children.
Object Model Browser 2 is designed to provide various structured views of an object library, displaying this parent-child relationship among the objects in the library in a tree-like form. In other words, unlike other object library viewers, OMB 2 displays the object model for an object library.
Version 2 of OMB incorporates a special Create Model Wizard that guides you through the steps required to construct an object model from virtually any object library. Unlike Version 1 of OMB, you are no longer restricted to only those object libraries supported by The Roman Press.
The wizard makes it easy to construct an object model by letting you:
